Lliana Villegas

Lliana Villegas is a Senior Instructional Coach & Math Curriculum Developer at Bridges. She has a Master’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics.  She has experience as a classroom Mathematics teacher, Instructional Technology Coach, grant writer and STEAM lab manager. She was a middle school Math teacher for 20 years for grades 6 – 8 for Title 1 schools in New York City, which is where she has drawn from her own experiences as an ENL student to foster an understanding and love of Mathematics in her students which included ENL and SIFE students. In her role as Math Curriculum Developer she joins the team in further developing the Guided Math curriculum for SIFE and Newcomers with the focus of extending it into a year-long curriculum while coaching teacher teams. She speaks fluent Spanish and is working on gaining language proficiency in French, Italian and Greek.
