ELA-ENL INTERVENTION Program for SIFE and Entering Newcomers

Access to the Bridges-NYSED ELA-ENL Program for SIFE & Newcomers resources is for New York State educators only.

The ELA/ENL intervention program focuses on three thematic language arts units designed around rich essential questions. Students read engaging texts above their independent reading levels and build academic thinking, language, and literacy skills. ELA/ENL teachers apply Gradual Release of Responsibility as a scaffold. It supports teachers in making input accessible, differentiating instruction, demonstrating academic ways of thinking, and encouraging student independence.
