SPANISH HOME LANGUAGE ARTS INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Access to the Bridges-NYSED Spanish HLA Program for SIFE & Newcomers resources is for New York State educators only.

The Bridges Spanish HLA program was created for SIFE and newcomer secondary students as a way to build the home language literacy skills of native Spanish-speaking students who need additional support. The Bridges HLA program was designed for implementation in tandem with Bridges Integrated ENL/ELA and Stand-Alone ENL programs, with an overlapping thematic focus on identity. Daily lessons target academic thinking, language, and literacy through the Gradual Release of Responsibility, using protocols that build independence.
